01The context
FIRST TRANSPORTS Logistique, a member of the Tred Union network, opens a warehousing operation for the APTAR group, a pharmaceutical manufacturer. A principal of that size arrives with its own traceability requirements and its own information system, and does not adapt them to its provider.
02The problem
Pharmaceuticals demand complete traceability: batch number on the pallet and serial number on the product. APTAR therefore demands it of its provider. It runs SAP, and expects receipts and invoicing to flow back with no re-keying. A WMS that does not go down to the serial number, or that has no interface, rules the provider out before the commercial conversation even starts.
03What was put in place
TALK Logistique with dual traceability — batch number on the pallet, serial number on the product — and an interface with the customer’s SAP for automated receipt and invoicing of orders.
04The result
The operation started with the principal’s requirements met from day one. Traceability and interfacing were not a project that followed the opening: they were part of it.
TALK Solutions allowed us to start up a new logistics warehouse with the APTAR group, which requires full pallet traceability by batch number and by product through serial numbers. Interfacing with our customer’s SAP system enables automated receipt and invoicing of orders.
